The new True NITRO Series is here for 2026!

No doubt, people are awaiting the arrival of this new True series goal pad. Pat Lefevre and team have made a considerable number of changes to the new pad and incorporated some new features and even an old one, convinced that it will appeal to even more goalies that demand the best out of their Canadian made products.

The addition of the new Post Connection System (PCS) finally addresses a problem, that I'm surprised hasn't arrived prior to this model. It features a larger curved LD foam bridge that fits almost perfectly onto the rounded shape of the post to give you a flush fit with the bottom of the pad binding/toe bridge, so no pucks can sneak through. In addition to this feature, it also provides you with a perfect post contour shape so that your push off the post is as strong and stable as it can be, with no push latency.

Secondly, True has brought back a softer flex option, while still retaining the thinner composite thigh rise to help prevent crowding at the top of your pads while in your stance and butterfly. We saw many clients ask us for a softer/rounder pad shape on the older PX3/PX5 pad models. With guys like Binnington rocking this shape spec, it only made sense that it would eventually arrive at retail. Our custom store stock Nitro Pros/L87s will have this option as standard. But don't be be fooled......Pat has done an excellent job in retaining the stiffness that goalies demand today in the upper part of the pad.

Hot rebounds are a thing nowadays in the goal pad world and True has taken a step to increase the puck exit velocity of the new goal pad, incorporating new Super Critical Foams (SCF). Two combined benefits of the SCF: reduced weight of the goal pad and amplified rebound velocity are improvements any goalie enjoys seeing.

In addition to the above features, True bring a new, firmness adjustable knee stack for you. It allows you to dial in the perfect amount of rigidity that suits your game just perfectly. Not sure what you like? Try it one time on a softer setting, then try it on a more rigid setting. This allows you to dial in your pad to your favourite personal preference and concentrate on puck stopping.

Other small changes include a smaller FRS size for players that crave a tighter fit on the 33" and 34" pad sizes and flat knee rolls that may provide a more predictable rebound direction.

Our demo pad and glove sets have arrived and are ready to be taken out and put to the test. We even have a 600 break catcher in our demo fleet...we are seeing some custom orders arrive with this catcher in the set. Time will tell if the 600 is making a come back or if it is still a seldom chosen option.

Stop in and see why more pros wear True that any other brand. You may agree with them and make them your pad of choice...without the product endorsement fee. For now.
