Professional Skate Service Calgary was founded in 1972 with one small location in the southwest, specializing in the figure skating industry. Upon mastering one sector of the skating world, Professional Skate Service Calgary broadened its customer base and expanded into the hockey industry. After proving many years of exceptional service and extensive product knowledge in both the figure skating and hockey areas, Professional Skate Service grew to meet the demands of its customers. In the past 10 years 4 new locations have emerged throughout Calgary and the surrounding areas, including a location in the northeast, second location in the south, fourth location in the town of Strathmore, and their latest location specializing in goalie equipment. Backed with 34 years of experience and 6 locations to serve you better, Professional Skate Service Calgary will continue to meet their customer's needs for many years to come.

Owner Profiles

Lyle Seitz: brings numerous years of on ice experience at the NHL level. Through a hands on approach, he adds a dimension to Professional Skate that is unheard of in the retail sector. A combination of business and NHL experience, college education, and a passion for the skating industry has proven to be a winning combination. Although hockey was Lyle's grass roots, figure and power skating have been an integral part of his success. His loyalty to the figure skating industry, through Professional Skate, will continue to be enhanced.

Josh Esler: retired from an elite level of hockey at a young age to join the Professional Skate team. His journey began as an employee many years ago, allowing Josh to understand all aspects of the industry. Although his extensive knowledge in hockey got Josh into the retail sector, he has grown with the business to fully understand and enjoy the figure skating world. Josh repeatedly surpasses the expectations of the hockey industry and continues to develop a thorough understanding and passion for the figure skating market. As an owner, Josh realizes the importance of the entire skating world as a whole and is looking forward to meeting each customer and his/her skating needs.

Peter Martin: Played hockey professionally for 17 years, as a goaltender and coached professionally as well for 5 years. His knowledge and experience of the goaltending position will no doubt be a valuable asset to our customers, who are looking for the proper advice when they are considering purchasing new equipment. New to the world of retail sporting goods, Peter brings energy and enthusiasm in helping customers understand how to fit their equipment properly and exactly which product best suits their style of play. The world of goaltending has undergone a huge change in recent years and Peter understands this more than anyone. Peters’ passion for the goaltending position remains as strong as ever and he looks forward to meeting each and every customer that may need sound advice in the area of goaltending.
